Mother - A Supreme Influence On Our Lives

A mother or someone who plays a maternal role in one’s life is one of the greatest influences in shaping the personality, nature, health and destiny of the child.A mother is someone who protects, gives, nurtures and guides their child. There is no perfect way of motherhood. Though the more we begin to understand the sensitive psychology and the essential nature of a young child, the better we would as mothers or maternal figures serve our child well.

A mother gives a strong and steady foundation of health to a child. This is one of the most essential tasks at hand for a mother. If the child doesn’t have a sound health, they will not grow to their fullest
potential and gifts. This is the main reason I wrote my first book,Beautiful Children: The Parent’s Essential Guide to Raising Strong, Balanced, Healthy (published by Harper Collins in 2014). Health is not just the absence of pain and medical symptoms in the body. Health encompasses much more.

With the food we prepare everyday in the kitchen, we take our child towards their higher health and potential or towards deficiency and misery. Not that any mother would knowing do the latter. Although I have to admit my great disappointment to observe that the key authentic knowledge about raising healthy children is hugely lost in modern urban living propelled by easy availability of artificial food products and commercialization of the food industry. Food was never meant to be commercialized. We weren’t supposed to have food products packaged in factories and passed down many hands before it
reaches our table. We were and are meant to have food from the farm to the table with perhaps one connecting link along the way.

The very act of packaging food by adding chemicals, preservatives and artificial colours and flavours to it to be able to compete with other food product businesses is the most disastrous thing that has
happened to mankind. These businesses care about increasing numbers in their sales and have little interest in the well being of your child.

Daily food consumed by a child contributes to his or her blood –hormonal-body chemistry. This is s very essential chemistry and directly impacts your child’s thinking, mood and decision making ability. According to this your child has energy to do only survival activities in a day or has the health and extra energy to work towards many goals and dream projects. Working towards their goals and dreams leaves them with a feeling of accomplishment, joy and true confidence and builds experiential knowledge and wisdom for all future endeavours.

Besides calories and nutrients, food also has energy and affects the mind, emotions and behaviour of your child. This also impacts their development, nature and personality. Serving your child natural foods also makes them more sensitive to nature and other people around them. So as much as some people may think that food only affects one’s digestion, excretion and basic bodily functions, it is indeed making the very foundation of everything else in life – either contributing to a mediocre energy level or contributing to exceptional strong and remarkable energy.

A child gets their first impressions in this world from a mother. How a mother talks, walks, dresses, emotes, treats other, responds in life situations is the first learning in any child’s life. Your choice of words, communication style and tone of voice can make a child feel more confident, secure and fulfilled or not. A child has a very delicate psychology and nature. They are powerfulness at the hands of their caretakers and parents and sometimes feel suppressed if not dealt with love and compassion. How you treat them teaches them how to treat others in life. Giving your child a stable health foundation, a safe environment (both physical and emotional), and supporting and guiding their positive potential is an indispensable part of motherhood and parenthood.
