Prevention Is Better Than Cure

While slipping into our beds at night, the last thing we would probably think about is the presence of micro beings and germs in the sheets, duvets and pillows around us. Speaking of the everyday things we use during day time, dish sponges and rags have more Salmonella and E.coli, compared to bathroom faucet handles. Even our smartphones and TV remotes host harmful E.coli and flu bugs. The carpets, the cutting boards, the dish towels, door and drawer handles, the microwave, the knobs and the countless objects in our homes are all replete with germs and microbes. Indoor spaces that lack exposure to sun and cross – ventilation further compound their growth.

This makes our homes invisibly loaded with germs and harmful bacteria that go unnoticed. This is especially concerning with homes that have kids and newborns. Most families resort to a series of precautions such as regular hand washing, using floor cleaning, multi-surface cleaning liquids and extensive use of sanitizers which is the gold standard when it comes to hygiene. Other widely followed means of keeping homes germ free include taking off shoes outside the home entrance, thoroughly mopping the home twice, weekly washing of bed linen, the frequent dusting of doors, windows and furniture to name a few. But this entire germ tackling still leaves millions and trillions of germs untreated.

“There is a way to do it better, find it!” famously said by Thomas Edison, before inventing the electric light bulb. Thankfully, there is a way to do it better and modern-day brands are proactively at it.

Some brands offer multi-surface home cleaners to keep homes safe against germs, others bet big on liquid sanitizers, anti-pollution masks and even anti-bacterial paint that offer a sense of security to the users. Moreover, innovation has come a long way in catering to consumer needs where, today, an anti-bacterial LED bulb has been developed to provide a dual benefit of lighting up the home and discreetly killing germs. The new LED light bulb does not emit any UV/IR radiations but only visible light, which makes it safe for humans, pets and food items. When you think about it from an affordable perspective, an LED light bulb is a suitable example of an extremely compact addition to making a home safe and germ-free. It is a continuous and effortless way to tackle germs in its light path from the time it is switched on.

Such solution-oriented product innovations ensure a secure, germ-free environment with no extra efforts from the consumers and their family members.

When it comes to protecting our families from any health hazard, prevention is better than cure. A proactive change made to the home today can go a long way in ensuring a safe, secure and healthy tomorrow for our kids and family members. With home-grown brands at the forefront in this space, it is possible for all Indian families to unanimously say - Home is where the hygiene is!
