5 Lifestyle Alterations For A Sorted Corporate Life With 5X Productivity

While the enlightened beings seek a pathway to free themselves from this vicious circle of life and death, today in Kaliyuga, an average 9-6 office goer finds himself drowning in an additional pool of higher troubles. He feels bound by an endless cycle of perennial office work, unsatiated desire to succeed, unsatisfied multiple carnal relationships, failed attempts at startups, monetary yearnings, minuscule yearly appraisals, humongous home loans, distribution of mass pink slips amidst pandemic, tiring nuclear family responsibilities, depleting mental health, a physical body with a low-grade immune system, etc; the list is endless and there is no way out. Even if some brave soul tries to free themselves from these worldly affairs, one is labeled as “selfish” by society!

Born as Rajesh Singh Maan, Acharya Ji took the name Advait Yogbhushan when he set out on the path of enlightenment. Acharya Ji has devised a very simple midway path for a corporate worker to break out from this monotonous patterned life and find a balance between their professional and personal life. By including a few yogic practices in one’s lifestyle, one would feel liberated.

1) Sync in the Circadian Rhythm: “Early to bed, early to rise, makes one healthy, wealthy and wise.” This nursery rhyme holds a great deal of truth when brought into everyday practice. Guruji, being a yogi, urges city people to wake up early as the early morning is the best time which allows a “Purusha” to be connected with the “Prakriti” when the soul witnesses its true nature amidst the rising sun, the chirping birds, the cold breeze, the whispering tree branches, and the infinite blue sky to name a few. It is this time when the hypothalamus in our brain which is responsible for controlling our emotions gets activated and makes us feel joyful. Getting in bed early allows one to wake up early without any hassle and tantrums.

2) Waking up at the Brahmamuhurta: “The 5 am Club” has become a bestseller for a reason as the people have lavishly adopted this habit and are reaping miraculous benefits out of it. The Vedas tell us the most spiritual hour of the day is between 3-6 am, the hours before sunrise. The literal English translation of Brahma Muhurta is known as “Brahma’s Hour”. Brahma is known as the creator of this cosmos, this is the time of divine creation. This is when one can actually be the most productive in terms of their dreams, skills, aspirations, meditation, workout, etc. There have been recorded stats of the most successful and enlightened people in the history of mankind vouching for starting work in the wee hours. In the Brahmamuhrata, the delta waves in the brain are the most active and fresh after waking up from “deep sleep” and anything that one puts their heart and soul into during this time, would be able to grasp, observe, analyze, memorize, enhance 10X than the usual.

3) Having meals at the right time - A busy corporate worker has this careless behavior of skipping meals during the day because of the stress of back-to-back meetings and then hogging onto junk by late evening or night. Advait Ji favors the consumption of meals based on our 5000 years old Ayurveda system, as per the doshas, Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, prevalent both inside our body and in Prakriti. One needs to have warm liquids early in the morning when Kapha is dominant in the Prakriti. Breakfast should always be of fruits or Satvik meals to detox the body. The second biggest meal of the day should be between 10 am- 2 pm when the pitta dosha is dominant in nature, which also supports the digestive fire helping in the assimilation of food. Early dinner provides intermittent fasting as well until the next day’s first meal. Advait Ji keeps his body in “starvation mode”. He only eats half of what is required for his body. This keeps the body active. When one eats till the stomach is full, we often experience lethargy and tiredness; we are drawn towards rest and taking a nap. However, keeping the body in starvation mode keeps us active and working.

4) Meditate to calm the haywire mind - Meditation is one thing that comes naturally to a person, it can’t be taught. The easiest way to meditate is via mantra chanting. The easiest to remember, easiest to pronounce, and most powerful mantra which follows no religion is OM. Upon correct recitation, this mantra brings immense peace and calming effect on any individual. Om is the supreme healing sound of the universe as it makes every cell on this planet vibrate at the same frequency as that of OM. Chanting Om, lets a Purusha (soul) feel connected with the Prakriti (universe) at the same time. It is just that the right technique of Om mantra chanting is very important to understand first. Advait Yog provides the initiation of Omkar Sadhna during various yoga and wellness retreats.

5) Bring balance in mind, body, and soul - It is very important to keep one indulged in a physical activity that keeps the mind sorted. As per facts, yoga is the only form that is not considered as a workout, rather a work-in. Our body is a well-oiled machine created by god. But, this machine is complex and difficult to understand. Yoga is the manual that helps us understand the nitty-gritty details of our bodies. Once you begin practicing yoga, you connect with your own self and discover more about your own body.

Advait Yog teaches on bringing the alignment of mind, body, and soul to reach the stage of enlightenment. He believes in breaking the patterns of this monotonous corporate life by infusing creativity and productivity via unleashing the capabilities of an individual’s brain with consistent and correct traditional yogic practices.

The path to a meaningful and content life is made of some of the most simplistic things in the world. But, in our search for more, more, more, we get derailed from this path. A high-pressure working environment and the monotony of daily life make it even difficult for one to seek the path of enlightenment. In order to break out of these chains, you need to start making small changes in the way you live, starting by trying to incorporate the above-mentioned 5 basic lifestyle practices. One by one, day by day, as you move ahead, you will notice how these changes have impacted you. Your mind would no longer be fogged with aimless yearning, your body will no longer be aching from sitting for long hours, you would often feel the release of the happy hormones in your body, and most importantly, you would be able to control how things in your surroundings affect you and how you can overcome the hurdles life throws at you with calm and grace.
