The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) celebrated its sixth foundation day on Friday. The statue of Padma Vibhushan Vaidya Bṛihaspati Dev Triguna was unveiled at the newly dedicated "Vaidya Bṛihaspati Dev Triguna Auditorium." Vaidya Bṛihaspati Dev Triguna, an eminent figure in Ayurveda, was honoured with the Padma Vibhushan award for his lifelong dedication.
Hon'ble Union Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Ministry of Ayush, praised AIIA for its academic achievements and emphasized the potential for India to play a leadership role in holistic healthcare. Minister Sonowal remarked, "Investors across the globe are enthusiastic to invest in the Ayush sector, and we should work to tap that opportunity."
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Government of India, has allocated 12 acres of land for the expansion of the All India Institute of Ayurveda.
AIIA further strengthened its research capabilities through the signing of six Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with well-regarded institutions, including Hindustan Salt, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and the Heartfulness Institute. The institute inaugurated a new molecular biology laboratory, Manuscript Unit, and Center of Excellence Dakshya, contributing to its research infrastructure.
Minister of State, Ayush, Shri Munjapara Mahendrabhai Kalubhai, lauded AIIA's evolution as a symbol of excellence and innovation. He highlighted the addition of a Molecular Biology Laboratory and skill labs to the institute's infrastructure.
AIIA, established in 2017, has become a hub for Ayurvedic education and research, not only in India but also on a global scale.
Recently, the institute achieved an A++ grade accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), becoming the first Ministry of Ayush institution to attain this level in the first cycle. Minister Sonowal presented the A++ certificate to AIIA's Director, Prof. (Dr) Tanuja Nesari.
During a virtual keynote address, Daaji, the President of the Heartfulness Institute, emphasized the significance of meditation in the context of Ayurveda. He expressed a desire to establish an Ayurvedic centre in collaboration with AIIA at Kanha Shantivanam, Hyderabad.
