How Scientific Discoveries And Theories Align Or Conflict With Spiritual Beliefs
Science was always at loggerheads with religion. Religion always spoke of various Gods.
Different religions spoke of Gods that were flying in the sky, riding different animals, performing miracles like converting water into wine and walking on water bodies, among many others but science did not have the not proof of – Who is God? Where is God? And what is God? Therefore, science always discountenanced religion. But Spirituality and science had synergy and both strongly agreed on a very important point - We are all energy.
Recently, the Quantum Physics and Quantum Mechanics branch of science discovered something called a Wave-Particle Duality. As per this theory, a particle of matter is in reality, nothing but a wave of energy. This was a great discovery. So much so that the 2022 Physics Nobel Prize was given to a group of three physicists for their groundbreaking work in Quantum Physics and Quantum Mechanics. Science and Spirituality, both agree on this point that everything in this world is energy.
Spirituality has been iterating this for thousands of years that we all are manifestations of the Supreme Immortal Power, SIP that we all call, God. Science, on the other hand, has been calling this unknown and unfathomable energy as the dark matter or the dark energy. In fact, science believed in the Law of Thermodynamics long ago that said - Energy cannot be created or destroyed. It can only transform from one form to another. Spirituality has been saying that we are not the body that dies. We are Immortal Souls and Soul is energy.
In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna says, ‘The Soul cannot be killed or destroyed; you cannot drown it; you cannot burn it and you cannot cut it into pieces.’ Therefore, there seems to be some solidarity between science and Spirituality on certain points and beliefs and the more science is progressing, it is getting to understand that Spirituality is nothing more than a science in itself. Spirituality is the science of the Spirit or the Soul.
Unfortunately, religion has confused science and Spirituality, both, by bringing about its beliefs of Gods - Different Gods with various names, forms and birthdays, when in reality, God is not God. God is energy, a Power. God is a Supreme Immortal Power that is nameless, formless, birthless and deathless but this is unknown and there are different beliefs regarding God in the world of religion. People who are religious, pray to a God, who lives in the sky. But this is a lie. The truth is that God is energy, a Divine Energy that is everywhere and in everything.
Today, science understands and acknowledges the Law of Causation, the Law of Cause and Effect and the Law of Karma. All these laws are helping to create a synergy between science and Spirituality. That day is not far away, when Spirituality will be recognised as a science and people will realize that there is a clear logic and Spirituality is not magic.
That day is not far, when people will believe that it is scientific to believe in Spirituality because after all, we all are Divine manifestations. Therefore, there is a connection between science and Spirituality and it is up to us to respect this connection. Until there is Realisation, we will live in ignorance and continue to confuse religion with Spirituality and believe that science is on the opposite side. But this is no more true.
The truth is that Spirituality is a science. The truth is that we are manifestations of a Power. The truth is that the body will die but we are the Immortal Souls, a Spark Of Unique Life. Until now, science has not agreed that there is life inside us but the day will soon come, where science will agree on the Power of the Spirit and Soul, through inference. Just like science agreed on the Law of Gravity, through inference; just like they agreed that it was not the Earth that was still and the sun was rotating around it, rather, it was the sun that was still and Earth was rotating around the sun in orbits. Science also evolves, learns and changes with the progress of time. Even though it has not yet happened but it is just a matter of time for science to accept Spirituality and then, instead of conflicting, all the scientific discoveries and theories will align themselves with spiritual beliefs.
