A recent study published in the Journal of Men and Masculinities suggests that men are more satisfied with bromance than romantic relationships with women. The study came as no surprise as previous studies have already proved the same.
The study was participated by 30 second-year college students who were heterosexuals in their preference of partners. In academics, the group with all straight college students had sports-related majors.
Further providing details of the participants, the researcher concluded that all these participants had one or more ‘bromantic’ friend. Further, they defined the term bromantic friend as a male human with whom they share secrets, expressed love or have even shared the same bed at least once in their lifetime.
Out of 30 men, 28 of them opted to discuss personal matters with a male friend over romance. “Lovers are temporary,” one study participant said during his interview. “A bromance can last a lifetime.”
In a similar study, researchers found that men prefer spending time with their friends than girlfriends or wives. The study was participated by 1500 men, out of which 54 per cent men choose to spend time with their friends in the first place.
Also, the research brought out that on an average, men had five friends with whom they catch up thrice a week. Further, it highlighted that 44 per cent of the men has caught up in an argument with their partners.
