Lakshmi Venkataraman is a graduate in law and arts from NALSAR University of Law, India. She has worked in the field of animal protection for over two years and is currently is a Fellow at The Good Food Institute, and at Sentient Media. She has previously worked for the Federation of Indian Animal Protection Organisations (FIAPO), on campaigns with corporate institutions, to reduce their supply of meat, eggs and dairy.
Factory farmed animals suffer immensely despite Indian society’s belief that animals deserve rights and humane conditions. Ironically, the same corporations that exploit animals may be animal advocates’ biggest allies too.
