Why did the #metoo movement cause such a ripple? It has seen and continues to see women indiscriminately across professions, age, religion speak out. Thanks to the help of digital media and social media, the movement caused awareness to spread quickly and encouraged people to be aware and realize that a change was needed. Social media offered a safe space for women to express themselves and to call out the perpetrators involved.
