5 Things To Do In Nature To Boost Your Wellbeing This Winter

The several seasons of the year each have their own special advantages for our bodies, minds, and moods. Getting out of bed in the mornings during the summer may be less difficult than getting out of bed in the mornings during the winter. When it comes to exercise, getting yourself out of your cozy bed on chilly days will be a challenge in and of itself. However, here is some inspiration for those of you who want to get in shape or boost your well-being over the winter.

1. Forming a disciplined routine

Yoga and spirituality help us establish daily routines by putting us in a focused mode. This routine helps us stay diverted from our own lethargy while keeping the idle mind active. Any regimen we follow and mould ourselves into will undoubtedly have results for us. Whether it is summer or winter, our commitment will help us to continue improving. A routine is not only helpful but also vital.

2. Well-Rounded Diet

Make sure you intelligently incorporate vitamins, minerals, proteins, and carbohydrates into your diet. Avoid including any food items like brinjals, watermelons etc. and stick to seasonal fruits and vegetables. Even though it is tempting, avoid foods that are highly spicy or greasy. Consume foods that will make you physically and mentally happy. With the traditional cuisine, minimize your intake of products like curd, and yoghurt from your diet.

3. Stay hydrated

During the winter months make sure that you are consuming an adequate amount of water on a regular basis. This will keep you hydrated and prevent fatigue. We tend to not be so thirsty during the winters and forget to drink water altogether. Therefore, consume plenty of water and add fruit juices to your daily liquid intake.

4. Practise Yoga/ Walking

To experience yoga's tremendous effects on the mind, body, and spirit, practise regularly. You can achieve the required result by allocating as little as 20 minutes each day or at least three times per week. If improving your health is your resolution, you must engage in physical activities like yoga, running, or any other sport that can increase your body's flexibility, strength, and endurance. You can also practise Siddha Walk that can be done indoors.

5. Pranayama and meditation

Use yogic techniques like pranayama and meditation to help you stay active during winter. These two methods will enable you to become more powerful than your present mental state. Yoga provides you with a strong motivation to develop and advance in life. It is also possible to practise pranayama techniques like Brahmari Pranayama, Bhastrika, and Anulom Vilom for a minimum of 5 minutes per day at first, and then gradually increase the duration with practise.

In fact, exercising in the winter can increase your calorie burn rate compared to exercising in the summer. Because the heart has to work less throughout the winter, you can also enhance your endurance because you will sweat less and work out more effectively.
