Lupin’s Humrahi Diabetes Support Program Expands To Include Heart Health
Lupin launched Humrahi 2.0, its diabetes management program which will now be extending to heart health
Global pharma major Lupin Limited (Lupin) announced the relaunch of Humrahi at the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI) conference in New Delhi. Humrahi now offers comprehensive support for diabetes and heart health. With diabetes and cardiovascular diseases ranking among the top health challenges globally, it represents a critical innovation that combines extensive support for diabetes management along with robust care strategies for heart health. This dual focus aims to offer patients a holistic approach to health management.
Alarming rise of diabetes cases in India
In 2021, 74.9 million people between the ages of 20 and 79 had diabetes in India and this is projected to increase to 124.9 million by 2045. These statistics not only highlights that 90 to 95 per cent of people with diabetes in India have type 2 diabetes but also warns us about other health complications that comes with it including heart attacks, strokes, kidney failure, and blindness. Patient support systems are crucial in this journey and programs like Humrahi are transforming diabetes management through their focus on treatment adherence, sustained behaviour change, and holistic health transformation.

The benefits of the Humrahi continue to be personalised counselling sessions, lifestyle management and tips, complimentary medication, and complimentary diagnostic tests. The support program extends from medication reminders to lifestyle tasks and health trackers. Through a new chatbot feature, the program will be available in 12 languages.
In the fight against type 2 diabetes, Lupin has collaborated with former Indian cricketer, Kapil Dev, to create awareness on early detection, implementation on targeted screening programs and structured lifestyle modification programs that can offer the tools and support needed to take control of their health journey.
