Celebrating Super Women In The Wellbeing Sector

After a rigorous editorial process, on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2022, BW Wellbeing World of BW Businessworld is recognising the work of 10 extremely accomplished women in the field of wellbeing. They have in the past one year created methods of giving back to society through their extremely unique and selfless work in their respective fields of wellbeing. BW Wellbeing World has taken this opportunity to celebrate their hard work, whether it is in in the domains of mind, body or soul related issues. These women practice what they preach, in order to lead by example and build awareness all across the globe with complete dedication and commitment to society as a whole.

1. Pooja Bedi – Apart from being an accomplished Actress and Relationship Columnist, Pooja Bedi is the Founder of Happy Soul. At Happy Soul, they believe that wellness is an umbrella that encompasses the well-being of our mind, body, energy, soul and our planet as well. Their sole objective is to provide diverse multi-vendor products which enable you to lead a life that is chemical free, organic, healthy and wholesome.

2. Shilpa Shetty Kundra – A very famous Bollywood actress and yoga and fitness enthusiast, Shilpa Shetty Kundra is the founder of Simple Soulful App. This is a Holistic Health App designed by experts with Yoga, Exercise, Immunity, and Diet Programs. She has pledged to spread awareness about holistic wellbeing by encouraging a healthy lifestyle modification. Apart from this, she has been instrumental in spreading a large amount of awareness of how to live a balanced lifestyle.

3. Vandana Luthra – Vandana Luthra is the founder of VLCC Healthcare Ltd. Being a very successful entrepreneur, Luthra has succeeded in building a brand like VLCC which is a beauty and wellness conglomerate represented in Asia, the GCC and Africa. She is also the chairperson of the Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council (B&WSSC), an initiative that provides training under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana scheme and was awarded the Padma Shri in 2013.

4. Shahnaz Husain – Husain is not only the Founder, Chairperson and Managing Director of The Shahnaz Husain Group in India, but also an expert in Ayurveda and Herbal Beauty Care. She has received international acclaim for pioneering the Herbal beauty care movement and taking the Indian herbal heritage of Ayurveda worldwide. She has also been awarded the Padma Shri for her inspiring work.

5. Yasmine Karachiwala – She is an author, celebrity fitness trainer and an expert in Pilates. In 2006, she went to the US to complete her Pilates training and in 2014, she became India's first Pilates master trainer. Yasmine’s dedication to fitness and Pilates is surely very infectious as it has changed the lives of a number of people for good and she also trains Bollywood celebrities, whilst maintaining humility and positivity.

6. Sister BK Shivani – Shivani Verma, better known as BK Shivani, Brahma Kumari Shivani, or Sister Shivani, is a teacher in the Brahma Kumaris spiritual movement in India. She is also a very powerful motivational speaker. A B.Tech in Electronics and Communication she has devoted her life to improving the lives of others. She has applied the knowledge of science to understand the existence and task of God. As realising the self as a Soul, she deeply understood its relationship with the supreme soul, who is our spiritual father. This way she progressed in this path day by day.

7. Rachna Chhachhi specialises in reversal of chronic lifestyle diseases without medication and is a certified Cancer Coach, Nutritional Therapist, Certified International Yoga Teacher and WHO certified in Malnutrition for infants & children. Founder of RachnaRestores – the RR community – Rachna’s purpose in life has been to help those suffering with a poor quality of life, understand the power of holistic nutrition to heal themselves. She practices across 27 countries. Rachna herself is an autoimmune warrior, and 14 years ago, healed herself from rheumatoid arthritis, which is an incurable condition in medical science, before she began her journey to help others heal.

8. Raageshwari Loomba – Apart from being an actor or singer, Raageshwari Loomba is a very profound and influential Mindfulness Speaker. Her words of wisdom have transformed people’s perspectives - in terms of looking at life in a new way and having a different mentality. Despite a few setbacks she emerged stronger than ever and has always been a source of inspiration to many people.

9. Uma Naidoo – Uma Naidoo is a nutritional psychiatrist and serves as the director of nutritional and lifestyle psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital. She is on the faculty at Harvard Medical School. Her passion is to strive to improve the lives of people through her practices. She has also been a professional chef and is an author of several very inspiring and knowledgeable books.

10. Kallie Schut - Kallie Schut is a yoga and dharmic traditions educator who is a lifelong social justice and antiracist activist, advocating for those without a voice or presence in places of power, privilege, and influence. Kallie is yoga teacher of Indian heritage practicing intentional hatha, yin, yoga nidra, meditation and gong. Kallie is one of the founding members of the UK Yoga Teachers Union. She is also the founder of Rebel YogaTribe YouTube channel, Radical Yogi Book Club and delivers continuing professional development trainings, which delve deep into the legacy of colonialism, cultural appropriation, intersectional oppression, and racism in modern yoga.
