To empower women's health and family care in India with better healthcare access and support through various life stages and conditions, Humm Care raises investment.
Humm Care, an empathy-driven, technology-enabled healthcare start-up focused on women’s health, caregiving, and family care, has raised its seed round which now values the start-up at USD 5 million, from reputable investors. It currently provides employee healthcare benefits and specialised care programs to large corporates, MNCs and startups across India. This strategic investment will enable Humm Care to scale its innovative healthcare services, enhance its product offerings, and expand its reach both within India and beyond.
Founded in 2020 by the then-25-year-old Carina Kohli, Humm Care is on a mission to revolutionise the healthcare landscape for women and families in India by bridging critical gaps in traditional healthcare systems. With less than 15 per cent of Indian companies offering truly inclusive coverage, and only 5 per cent covering conditions like autism, the need for more comprehensive healthcare solutions is pressing. Humm Care’s platform addresses these gaps by providing end-to-end support across various life stages, from PCOS, maternity, and fertility to caregiving and eldercare. A recent Humm Care survey revealed that 47.2 per cent of women expressed a need for postpartum mental health counselling, highlighting the importance of such support. When considering parenthood, 39 per cent of respondents requested educational workshops on pregnancy, childbirth, and infant care, while 36.2 per cent sought preconception counselling services to discuss health and lifestyle factors. Despite these needs, 47.9 per cent of respondents faced challenges such as difficulties in finding trustworthy specialists, high consultation fees, and lack of insurance coverage. Additionally, 62 per cent of respondents indicated that they do not receive adequate healthcare benefits and support from their employer.
Humm Care's data-driven approach, combined with expert guidance, enables organisations to offer tailored healthcare solutions that enhance employee satisfaction, productivity, and overall well-being. Humm Care's survey findings underscore the critical need for flexible and supportive workplace policies. A diverse workforce demands adaptable healthcare solutions, including specialized support for postpartum care, PWD, women’s health family care and caregiving. By addressing these needs, Humm Care helps organizations create inclusive environments that prioritise employee well-being and productivity.
Humm Care has partnered with several leading organisations across diverse sectors, including retail, logistics, finance, and IT, to deliver exceptional healthcare solutions. Humm Care's clients range from Fortune 500 companies, MNCs, big tech, construction, MSMEs and start-ups, all united by a shared commitment to increase the number of women in their workforce and go the extra mile for the well-being and health of their employees.
“We have been building Humm Care for over 4 years and we are excited to have raised our first round. This funding will fuel us to scale our services, improve our product and grow over the next 18-24 months," said Carina Kohli, founder and CEO of Humm Care. "By focusing on women's health, caregiving and family care, we aim to empower women and families, and bridge the gap in healthcare access. This will not only improve health outcomes but also contribute to a more inclusive workforce in India. There are several whitespaces in healthcare and coverage when it comes to stage specific care, condition management and specialised care. The Humm Care team is committed to our mission to build more accessibility to healthcare, with a special focus in women’s healthcare. People are the heart and soul of organisations - without people, organisations would just be machines. Health care shouldn’t be a privilege but a human right."
