What is a miracle? A miracle is something that is thought and believed to be impossible to be happening as per natural or scientific laws. And then, suddenly, it happens. A miracle occurs. And then we wonder – ‘Was it God? Or was it some Divine magic? Or is there some logic to this?’ We wonder – ‘Is it just a natural phenomenon?’ The thought that baffles us is that how did this miracle happen, when it was considered impossible. What would have made it possible?
In the past, the world was not so advanced. There was no technology or advanced and modern scientific studies and researches. There were no tools and techniques to conduct research too. But today, people have the means and use the resources at hand to scrutinise every miracle. People ask – ‘Who did it and how did it happen?’ and go deeper into the incident of occurrence. The more there is scrutiny, the more there is magic but miracles continue to happen. For example, somebody was declared dead but they escaped from the jaws of death. How did that happen? Did the person, actually die and then come back or did we make a mistake in declaring him/her dead? Science has a means to get to the root of the incident nowadays but it doesn’t mean that escaping from death was anything less than a miracle. For that unknown and rare scientific phenomenon to occur is also considered as a miracle.
But what about those religious Godmen, who claim that they can heal people from dying? What about those who claimed to have special Powers? Are they God on earth? Are they Divine manifestations who have been given special Powers? There is ambiguity modern day miracles. We've heard of ancient miracles and some of them are mythology. Some of them are fairy tales but when there is magic or a miracle that happens in today's world, we question out of curiosity, ‘What made it happen?’
There is no doubt that there is a Divine Power and there is no doubt that for the Divine, nothing is impossible. Any miracle is possible for the Divine. Calling this a natural phenomenon is just another name of Divine Intervention. So honestly, there is no difference between a Divine Intervention and a natural phenomena. Both are one and the same. So, the only question is that, ‘Is it some magic that is being performed by a human being or is there a Divine logic that is beyond our comprehension and understanding?’ There are only two things. We can doubt, investigate, check and find out if the miracle was actually a miracle. Then, it is up to us to have faith, to have hope and surrender to the Divine and accept the miracles as a miracle but it all depends whether we are being hood-winked by people who are taking advantage of us. Telling us that they can read our mind and telling us things that seem impossible.
Is it a skill, an art or truly a Divine miracle? It is for each one of us to be in Consciousness, to use our intellect and discriminate. It is for each one of us to view a miracle as either a work of the Divine or the manipulation of a clever magician. Just following the herd and believing things is the worst thing that we can do.
If we truly want to understand what these modern-day miracles are then we must Ask, Investigate and Realise the Truth. We must be in a state of Consciousness. We must not let the mind make us follow the herd, this is the way to decode any miracle of the modern day but even while doing so, let us not forget that for the Divine, all things are possible!
