Tips To Take Care Of Your Hair As You Age

Many of us have complained that we had such beautiful, long, and healthy hair when we were younger and that as we age, the shine and luster, as well as the volume of our hair, continue to deteriorate. That is because our hair is at its healthiest between the ages of 12 and 20. They gradually become finer, thinner, and, at times, lighter in colour as time passes.

Some people experience rapid hair loss, which can lead to baldness. This occurs because our hair follicles stop producing new hair, and the effects of chemical products are visible over time. Graying hair appears to be the first sign for many people, but be wary of other signs as well.

There are five major signs of aging of hair, they start thinning, become wiry and gray, along with becoming dry and dull. And once you've identified them, it's time to get to work on your hair and give it the attention it deserves. It is common knowledge that we must stay hydrated and eat a healthy and balanced diet, particularly one rich in iron, which helps to nourish the scalp and roots, making the hair healthier and supporting its growth. Give yourself a hot oil massage once a week to replenish nutrients and activate and speed up hair growth.

Many people are unaware that the harsh chemicals found in shampoos and conditioners are the primary cause of all hair problems. Switching to a vegan, natural, and organic haircare line is the best thing you can do for your hair. Read the labels carefully and don't be taken in by those who make lofty claims while quietly sneaking chemicals into their products. As a result, only put your trust in the best. And go slow on the heating and styling products as they take away the moisture of the hair, leaving them dry, brittle and prone to breakage.

Most of us focus on greying hair as a visible sign of ageing. That is why, the first go-to quick-fix solution appears to be those harsh chemical-based hair dyes. They, however, contain Ammonia and its byproducts, such as Ethanolamine, Dietanolamine, and Triethanolamine.

Today, we have better options, such as organic henna made with Brazilian extracts such as amla, Chamomile, Jua, Malva, Jaborandi, Babaçu Oil, Copaba, Guaraná, Cumaru, Aça, Olive, and Coconut Powder Oil, which is designed specifically for Indian hair. Such henna or henna cream is ideal for covering your greys with natural colours like black and brown, as well as for young people who like to experiment with hair colours like red, chocolate, burgundy, blonde, copper, and so on. The best bit- they come with easy to apply applicator for a mess-free experience and are free from sulphates, parabens, and phthalates.

For those who love to sport their salt and pepper look or flaunt their grays, because why not, it is a fashion statement, there are specific shampoos and conditioners available that work on the yellow tone of the grey hair, and leave them shining bright and silver. The bottom line is, as we age, our hair need special attention and if we take proper care, then we need not fear the age factor as we are supplying our hair with much-needed nutrients and care that they truly deserve.
