The couple came to the temple in jeans and t-shirts with a red-chunni worn around the face. Earlier, the priest denied entry to the love couple, but they were determined and stood at the temple’s gates until the priest surrendered and welcomed them inside the temple.
By the time the procession completed, it gathered a huge crowd at the temple premises witnessing first of a kind event in the area. The newlyweds left the temple before inviting any unprecedented event towards the wedding.
Allegedly, one girl hails from the Kanpur city and was accommodating at her cousin’s place for her education in the Varanasi city.
Although, the locals don’t seem happy with the wedding and are criticising the same. Further, they condemned the acts of priests and believed that he shouldn’t have allowed the wedding procession.
The couple rejoiced the 2018 Supreme Court decision which decriminalised Section 377. The apex court on 6th September 2018 noticed that criminalising consensual homosexual sex between adults was irrational, indefensible and manifestly arbitrary.
