Every king is in the street.

And why in the street because a king is always and always moving. He is always searching for more, he is always in the street, he is always on a journey, because there are many things yet to be attained.

Total relaxation is Paradise

Start from the body, and then go, slowly, slowly, deeper. And don't start anything else unless you have solved the first problem. If your body is tensed, don't start with your mind. Wait. Work on the body first. Remember, small things are of immense help.

Reflexive and Non-reflexive Reality

There are two kinds of reality. One kind is into influenced by what human beings think, desire, wish for, or expect. There is an independent reality out there when you are a Pilot deciding whether to fly during a thunderstorm. There is an independent reality out there when you are deciding which graduates school to attend: how well you will get along with the professors, whether there is adequate laboratory space, whether you can afford the cost. There is the reality of her rejecting you when you propose marriage. In all of these, your thinking and your wishes do not influence the reality, and I am all for keen realism in these circumstances. The other kind of reality ( George Soros, the business man and philanthropist, calls it, "reflexive reality") is influenced and sometimes even determined by expectations and perceptions. Market price is a reflexive reality that is strongly influenced by perception and expectations. Realism about the price of a stock is always invoked after the fact. ( The price crashed, so you are now labelled an over confident optimist. the price zoomed up, so you are now a genius, and I, who sold too early, I am labelled an under confident pessimist.) How much you are willing to pay is not just a judgement of the real value of stock, you are also judging the markets perception of the future value of the stock. When investors are optimistic about the market perceptions about the stocks furuture price, its price goes up. When investors are vary dillusionaly optimistic about the markets perception of the stock further price, its price goes way up. When investors are very pessimistic about the market's perception of the future price of a stock, the price of the stock or the derivatives crashes, and the economy melts down.I hastened to add that optimism and pessimism are not the whole story; some investors are still concerned with fundamentals. In the long run, fundamentals anchor the range of the price a stock brings, with the price functurating  around the blue of the fundamentals , but with the short run price heavily influenced by optimism and pessimism but even hereI believe that " reality" is reflexive and the value of fundamentals is influenced - even if it is not determined - by the market expectations of the future value of the fundamentals.

Why blame the entire world

It is tempting to systematically pass the blame onto the world and other people. When we feel anxious, depressed, cranky, envious, or emotionally exhausted we are quick to pass the buck to the outside world; tensions with colleagues at work, arguments with our spouse - anything, even the color of the sky can be a source of upset. This reflects far more than a mere psychological evasion. It reflects the mistaken perception that causes us to attribute inherent qualities to external objects when intact those qualities are dependent on our own minds. Systematically blaming others and holding them responsible for our suffering is the surest way to lead an unhappy life. It is by transforming our minds that we can transform our world. We should not underestimate the consequences of our acts, words, and thoughts. If we sow the seeds of poisonous plants along with those of flowers, we should not be surprised when the harvest is mixed. If we alternate between selfless and harmful behaviour, we ought to expect to get a sharply contrasting blends of joy and sufferings. It is easier to work with the disturbing effects of a strong emotion when we are in the midst of experiencing it, rather than when it lies dormant in the shadow of our unconscious at the precise moment of the experience, we will have an invaluable opportunity to investigate the process of mental sufferings. To cite a personal example, I am not by nature an angry person, but over the course of the past twenty years, the times that I have lost my temper have taught me more about the nature of that destructive emotion than years of tranquility. As the saying goes, " A single dog barking makes more noise than the hundred silent dogs." In the 1980, I had just acquired my first laptop computer, which I used to translate tibetan text. One morning as I was working, sitting on the wooden floor in a monastery at the far end of Bhutan, A friend thought it would make a cure joke to spill a handful Tsampa ( roast barley flour) on my key board as he passed by. I saw red and shot him filthy look saying, " Was that suppose to be funny?" Seeing that I was truly angry, he stopped and tersely replied, " One moment of anger can destroy years of patience." His gesture hadn't been especially clever, but he was essentially right.Another time, In Nepal a person who had swindled the monastery of a large sum of money came by to lecture me on morality. Again my blood boiled. My voice trembling with anger, I told her to get lost, and helped her out the door with a nudge. At that time, I was convinced that my anger was perfectly justified. It was only hours later that I came to see how destructive an emotion anger really is, reducing our clarity and inner peace and turning us into veritable puppets.

Light Only Light!

Shuddhaanandaa BrahmachariHindus around the world recently celebrated the auspicious occasion of the Festival of Light, Diwali.I wish you all Happy Diwali, Happy Deepavali! We are all beings of Light going through our human experience. We are a light, luminous soul, wearing our body!  And yet there is another gift that we humans have, and the animals don't have. Animals sleep, and we also sleep. But we humans have the power to sleep without sleeping, rest without sleeping, without sliding into unconsciousness. That is the world of meditation. Animals cannot go into that super conscious state of being awake while all the senses are non-functional, when the mind also gradually becomes quiet, calmed and rests in the Spirit and in the Light of all lights within.Humans can meditate. Hence we have Jesus, Buddha and Baba Lokenath, who died, but are not DEAD. They are alive, alive in the hearts of all of us for they learned the art of conquering the fear of death. Whoever can reach to that state of transcending the deceptive, illusive, phantom mind can reach to that state of being Deathless. As Spirits eternal we all are deathless. So, fear not. There is nothing to fear in this life. There is everything to be fearless. For death cannot steal, kill, burn, or damage the eternal Light within us, our Spirit that is stainless, sinless, pristine and pure.If we accept the path of prayer and meditation, devotion and love, and embrace the constant vigilant Light of awareness, we will be able to live in a body and mind which would not be a haunted house of fear, but a heavenly Abode of Light, Peace and Immortality. Please Meditate on these humble supplications to the Eternal Light, at this time of the Festival of Light, and always! May the Guru the dispeller of darkness and evil, awaken in our hearts and show us the path of true non-attachment to anything that is painful at the end.May we find reasons to fill our mind with vibrations of joy and smiles; it is only when we are happy we can share vibrations of happiness with those who come in touch with us! We are not physical beings but vibrational beings of Light and Love! May we meditateon this reality to give and attract the best in our life.May we trust the power of our Positive thoughts, give up all negativity, not try to run away from darkness; may we just be bold, upright and confidently bring Light and positive power into our thoughts, and become the worshippers of Light.May we take a pledge that we will not bow down our head before the insolent might of the lower mind within us. That we are born to raise our head high, honoring the inner Spirit within us, that Spirit which is the source of all Lights, all happiness and joy in life. We are that Light, eternal. We are That.May we see the Light of the soul in each other and live in soul-consciousness that alone can help us live without jealousy and envy.May we ignite the Light of hope in the hearts of those who are less privileged and are in pain and all collectively meditate for their collective peace and prosperity.May we live to experience the glory of Love and Light beyond expectations.May this Light shine on our path and in our heart so that we see there is nothing but that Light that alone IS, and then may we light the Light of all those we meet.

A man of understanding is man full of compassion

A man of understanding, a man who understand himself and others, always feel compassion. Even if somebody is an enemy you have compassion towards him because a man of understanding can understand the view point of the other also. He knows why the other feels as he feels, he knows why the other is angry because he knows his own self, and in knowing that he has known all others. He has compassion, he understands, and he follows understanding. When I say this don't miss understand me - understanding impact need not be followed. The very word "Following" gives the idea of having to do something: You understand, than you have to do something, you have to follow the understanding. No, understand, and every thing settles by itself. You need not follow, it simply starts happening. So it is important to understand the difference between control and discipline. Control is a false coin, invented by society as a substitute for discipline. It looks exactly like discipline: every false coin looks that way, otherwise it could not circulate in the market. There are many false coins about the inner life. Control is a false coin for the real coin of discipline.Never try to control yourself. who will control, really? if you understand, there is no need to control, if you don't understand, than who will control? this is the crux of the whole problem. If you understand, what is the need to control? You understand, so you do what so ever is right. Not that you have to do it, you simply do it because how can you do the wrong? If you are hungry, you don't start eating stones - you understand that stones cannot be eaten, finished ! there is no need to give you a commandment, " never eat stones when you are hungry". It will be simply foolish to say it. When you are thirsty you drink water. What is the need to make any "should" or "should not" about it?Life is simple when you understand there are no regulations or rules around it, there is no need, because your very understanding is the rule of all rules.

When vividly aware through some particular sense, keep in the awareness

I touch you, I give you a loving touch, a hand clasp. The hand is not touching you, I am touching you through the hand. The hand is just instrumental, so there can be two types of touch - when I really touch you and when I just avoid touch.
