Anamyah, The Future Of Wellness: Arpit Sharma

According to a study by the University of Scrampton, 92 per cent of people never achieve their health goals. Moreover, one in every four adults in the world do not meet the global recommended levels of physical activity which is only two hours of exercise in a week. We prioritise all the other things in the world, but not our exercise. Furthermore, even as knowledge is available, people still aren’t motivated to use that knowledge.

Speaking at BW Businessworld’s Festival of Wellbeing, Arpit Sharma, Founder and CEO at Anamyah, said, “People really wish to achieve a lot, but if you are not consistent, nothing can help you. For you to discover your reasons to change, you need to change your environment. You have to tweak your environment and modify how you look at things.”

Introducing Anamyah, Sharma said, “Anamyah is the future of wellness. It is a platform that creates an environment for growth and works like an internal compass to support people to follow through on their commitments. The app, 1 per cent Daily, offers affirmations, courses and even news aggregators which avail one with all the expertise he/she might need in one place.”

So that people do not lose their motivation, Sharma said that their team has gamified the app. “Wellness is like reading books. Everybody wants to read it but very few people end up reading the book. Everybody wants to be a part of wellness. So, we have gamified it, where people get rewards for the courses they complete,” he added. Sharma further said, “We have so many yoga courses online but the problem is that they are not quantifiable. 1 per cent Daily aims at giving scientifically-backed quantifiable results people will achieve upon completing the courses.”

1 per cent Daily has meditation courses, movement courses, core strength courses, therapy and stretching courses, self-confidence building courses, among others. The app is working on providing solutions to problems such as weight management, detox, physical and mental well-being, high productivity, depression, etc. People can have the real physical experience through wellness centres and later on, the learning can happen through the app.

Anamyah is making wellness rooms across hotels, such as ITC, Radisson, etc. so that everybody can access the wellness rooms in these hotels and it becomes a geographically viable option. Highlighting their future plans, Sharma said that at a later stage, they are also planning to open Anamyah hotels and spas.
