Journaling can be a tool for being enlightened, but can it lead to spiritual happpiness? I spell ‘happiness’ as happpiness and you will soon understand why.
Yes, journaling can be used for what people call manifestation, visualisation. And the visualisation of realisation is the highest of the law of attraction. When we are using a journal, when we have a habit of writing notes or maintaining a diary, these notes can be used as a tool for self-discovery, to discover who we are and why we are here. And then this auto-suggestion, this habit of journaling thoughts, realisations can lead to eternal bliss that comes from truth consciousness.
How does this work? Suppose we are writing a diary and we are making notes on ‘Who am I? Am I this body?’ And we come to know that we are not this body, this body will die. We realise that this body was formed over 9 months after we were conceived. When we journal these reflections, they become a part of our conscious awareness. Slowly but steadily, such journaling can lead us to the state of self-awakening. It is not enough to know that we can get from college. We need realisation. When we journal, we let the thoughts go into our consciousness. Then we can meditate, we can contemplate, and we can start discovering who we truly are.
When we use the habit of journaling for self-discovery, it leads us to higher awareness. And self-discovery is the way to eternal bliss because we transcend the body and its physical suffering. We try to find the mind and we realise that there is no mind, and so we overcome fear, worry, stress, anxiety, regret, shame and guilt. And then, when we realize we are neither the body nor the mind and ego ME, we transcend the ego and along with it, anger, hate, revenge, jealousy, pride, greed and selfishness. Therefore, if journaling can be used successfully as a tool for self-realisation, it can lead to that state of spiritual happpiness, not just pleasure that comes and goes. It can lead us to a state of peace and thereafter, from peace, it can take us to purpose. With the help of journaling, we can realize that we are the divine soul, the spark of unique life. We can realise that we are manifestations of SIP, the supreme immortal power we call God.
But only successful journaling can become a tool for self-discovery, not all journaling. If journaling is controlled by the mind, it'll create toxic thoughts that’ll make us blind. But if journaling is done from our consciousness, from full awareness, in mindfulness, then this journaling can become a successful tool for self-discovery, for self-realisation and this can lead us to the ultimate peak of happpiness. As I said above, I spell happpiness with 3 Ps. The 3 Ps of happpiness, pleasure, peace and purpose can be achieved if we are able to use the power of auto-suggestion, the power of attraction, visualisation and manifestation to reach that state of self-realisation. However, self-realisation is not automatic and guaranteed. It is not that everybody who maintains a journal will be led to self-discovery and attain spiritual happpiness. We need the help of an enlightened master, a Guru. We need to be in consciousness when we are journaling and we must also be seeking the true meaning of happpiness. If we are addicted to pleasure, then we will never reach that state of peace, which is the foundation of happpiness. Now most importantly, how can we discover the purpose of life— the purpose that stops us from suffering in the circus called life? The way to discover purpose is through self-realisation and journaling is one tool to attain it. There may be several other tools, but journaling can be a tool because it is a strong way of reaffirming thoughts and realisations till we get that ‘Aha’ moment and the ultimate truth is realised.
