AI Redefining Fitness & Driving People To Get Fitter

AI in the form of numerous applications is addressing these to help us maintain a healthy balance between exercise and nutrition. These are so deeply embedded in our lifestyle, that we are not even conscious of using them for seemingly simple daily tasks.

Changing the way fitness was once perceived

Earlier fitness was seen mostly in the light of common concerns like losing weight, lowering cholesterol levels etc. Technology like AI and high internet penetration have played a great role in making people aware of the importance of staying fit as a preventive measure rather than a curative one. It has redefined the concept of fitness by making it more widely distributed in terms of the number of people covered and influence on each individual. Let us look at the trends that are being promoted by AI in the field of fitness:

Accessibility: To help us reach our precise fitness goals, AI is doing all the seeing, hearing and thinking for us. It has a better understanding of our body than anyone else could have until now. Everything from smartwatches to other smart wearables is capable of using our biometrics, activity, and sleep to ensure optimal living conditions.

While it does not pave the shortcut route to getting fit, but AI has the ability to streamline all the efforts made by individuals in effectively meeting their fitness goal. It is making fitness more accessible by helping users improve their personal practices on a daily basis and improve their well-being in the long run. This is also motivating a higher number of people towards getting fit.

Tailor-made fitness plans: Different AI-based mobile applications are providing us with the luxury of a virtual personal trainer. As AI is becoming more human day by day, its precision in arriving at the right fitness solutions for each individual is increasing. This involves custom-made training plans and diet charts as per one’s body’s actual requirements. AI-based apps can even predict weight lifting capabilities of human beings and upgrade them as they progress.

Fitness on the go: Considering the busy lifestyle of a millennial, they are unable to spare time to hit the gym and work out. But with AI, the concept of fitness is departing from the traditional physical setting of fitness centres or gyms. Now one can access fitness from anywhere, anytime as smartphones have become the new personal trainers. So, be it within the comfort zones of their homes or during a work-break at the office, anyone can think about and strive to become fit on-the-go! Delivering fitness home: People value the convenience of their homes over opting to head to the gyms and open places. The very thought of getting ready and stepping out acts as a downer. As mentioned earlier, they would be more motivated to work out if they have an option to do so in an immediate setting. Today, if they can have their food delivered at their doorstep, then why not fitness?

There are many products/ software in the market that are providing the best possible workout experience to people in their homes. This not only ensures high motivation among people to continue exercising but also sustained fitness results.

Newer AI-based apps are also training coaches who can further help us in our fitness journey. That said, AI is indeed transforming people’s and professionals' attitude towards fitness. It only remains to be seen what lies next when new advancements in AI come up.
