In the last few months, many new decisions are being taken by the Delhi AIIMS administration. In this episode, the director of the hospital has taken a new decision according to which now there will be a ban on smoking in the hospital premises.
If a person is caught smoking cigarette or eating tobacco, then a fine of Rs 200 will be collected from him. This rule will also apply to all other staff including patients and hospital staff.
About 10,000 patients come to the OPD daily in AIIMS. This decision has been taken to make the hospital premises dirt and smoke free. An official order has also been issued in this regard. This circular has been sent to all departments and OPD premises. The hospital director has said in the order that if any permanent employee or doctor also smokes or uses tobacco products in the hospital premises, disciplinary action will be taken against them.
Apart from this, the employees who are not permanent if they are caught smoking then their services will be terminated. An order has also been issued to all the departmental heads that they should strictly follow this rule in their department.
Around 1500 patients are admitted in AIIMS all the time including different departments. Apart from this, 10 thousand people come to OPD daily. In such a situation, many people also smoke, due to which there is dirt in the hospital. Along with this, patients can also have trouble. In view of this, this order has been issued.
This work can be entrusted to the employees of the security department of AIIMS. The security personnel of the hospital will charge a fine if any person is caught smoking in the premises. In this regard, warning boards will also be installed in many areas of the hospital. So that people get information that smoking is not to be done in the hospital premises. If a security personnel does this, then he will also be fined.
