How Has The Wellness Industry Grown Post-pandemic?

Since the covid 19 pandemic, people all across the world have realised how important it is to maintain healthy lifestyles. The pandemic has exposed socio-economic and mental effects, delivering a crucial lesson on health.

Many people have switched to dietary or nutritional supplements since the pandemic outbreak. People are attracted to essentials like curcumin, amla, spirulina, and so on. We have found that integrating vitamins or nutritional supplements such as vitamin D, and calcium, to mention a few, into our daily diet is one strategy to build immunity against the virus. As a result, the need for nutritional supplements has increased.

BW Businessworld had a few words with Palak Midha, Founder, Palak Notes on how wellness industry has boost after pandemic. Excerpts;

As you cater to the women, what is the percentage of the women considering wellness as a part of their lifestyle?

About 80 per cent of the women who are connected with me are considering wellness as a part of their lifestyle and the number keeps on increasing over time. Women today are extremely health-conscious and fitness-conscious, meaning they work out, wear a fitness tracker, or use a mobile app to track physical exercise once a week. Women are becoming more conscious of the importance of remaining fit and healthy not only for themselves but also for the overall well-being of their families.

What are your services? How are you planning to bring in a change?

My aim with Palak Notes is to motivate, teach, and assist people in incorporating a healthy lifestyle into their everyday routines. Apart from consultation and offering supplements, we also work towards women's empowerment. I have already started a project “I Am Capable” where we are recruiting housewives to become part of the Palak Notes team. It is a work-from-home opportunity and I believe it will help the women to be financially independent and also improve their education.

We also have a community “Wonder Women” which comprises more than 10K women. These are the women who have reversed their health issues with us and actively take part in our workout sessions on a daily basis.

What is your vision in the wellness industry

My aim in the wellness market is to raise awareness so that people do not rush to the doctor for minor problems. They should be informed of the effectiveness of natural products, extracts, and home cures. People should seek the natural approach rather than allopathic medicine, which is damaging. Although it provides immediate relief, it is harmful in the long run, thus it is wiser to seek a natural solution. Aside from that, I intend to build a live booth consultation where anyone can come and receive free consultations from experienced health specialists.
