Children have to be taken care a lot during the changing seasons as their body is very sensitive. Therefore, children are easily vulnerable to most of the diseases that can even be fatal sometimes.
Surprisingly in 2019, among the children who died under the age of 5, about 30 per cent of the deaths worldwide were due to pneumonia, diarrhea and malaria, as per the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) report.
Many people consider pneumonia to be a common disease, but due to this disease, about 7 lakh children (under 5 years) die every year worldwide. This claim is from UNICEF. Even though this disease can be prevented through treatment, still so many deaths are astonishing. Pneumonia can be prevented with the use of antibiotics.
Malaria is a very dangerous disease for children under the age of 5. A UNICEF report states that in 2019, about 2,74,000 children (below 5 years) died due to this disease. Malaria is considered the third most dangerous disease after pneumonia and diarrhea.
Diarrhea is the most common disease among kids with changing climate. When someone suffers loose motions more than 3 times a day then it is called diarrhea. It is of two types, first acute diarrhea and second chronic diarrhea. Acute diarrhea usually gets better within a week, but when the disease lasts more than a week, it is called chronic diarrhea.
All such health issues can seem usual, but can be life threatening. Therefore, it should be taken care that kids are prevented from catching these diseases, and if caught, should be treated quickly.
