This AI Technique Will Predict Heart Attack Risks In Next 10 Years

In the last few months, cases of death due to heart attack have increased rapidly. The biggest concern is that even the youth are now falling prey to it. In the midst of this concern, scientists have found such a technical discovery that will predict future heart attacks of a person.

Actually, with this Artificial Intelligence (AI) technique, the coming ten years can be estimated regarding heart disease. It will tell how likely a person is to have a heart attack or stroke in the next ten years. The most important thing is that all this will be done with an X-ray only.

According to the report, this technique has been named as CXR-CVD risk. This has been discovered by the scientists of America's National Cancer Institute. The institute studied 11430 patients for this technique. X-ray of the chest of all of them was also done. After X-ray, the patient became eligible for statin therapy. Patients with this therapy reduce the risk of heart disease.

The results of this study were presented at the annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA). It was told that it is an Artificial Intelligence (AI). It can be trended to see X-ray film in depth. After this the pattern of heart disease can be known.

Dr Jacob Weiss, the lead author of this study and associated with the Cardiovascular Imagine Research Center of Massachusetts General Hospital, said that our model tells the condition of the next 10 years by looking at the X-ray film. It will tell whether that person is at risk of heart attack or stroke in the next 10 years. This screening will identify those people who have not received any treatment for heart disease and who would benefit from statin therapy.

According to the guidelines that have been issued regarding this technique, it can be estimated about serious heart patients for ten years. Along with this, it can also be estimated whether the said person needs statin therapy or not. In this technique, a person's age, gender, blood pressure, hypertension, smoking, type-two diabetes and blood tests are done. Statin treatment is given only to those who are at risk of heart disease in the coming ten years.
