Celebrity Yoga Expert Sunaina Rekhi, is in New York representing India at the UN for International Yoga Day.
She is very pleased that Yoga has achieved global recognition, to point of it spinning into a special celebratory day - International Yoga Day. Sunaina feels it is wonderful for both students and teachers. Rekhi will be part of Tata Skys 48 hour Yoga marathon on the 21st and 22nd June. She is also conducting workshops for Yogis and Yoginis in New York to extend the celebrations.
Sunaina shared with BW Wellbeingworld that she feels that yoga is the best form of exercise.
She said, "Yoga is my life. It is a religion for me. The more you practice yoga, the more it becomes part of your body and mind. Yoga helps you to grow and become a better person. It helps to calm your body."
As part of her daily fitness regime, she does a lot of inversions.
"I think the inversions are very important as they help the blood to flow in the direction of the head, improving oxygen supply to the brain. I also love to hang on a rope upside down, it gives traction to my back and especially helps the spine," she highlighted.
