Yoga Is Not Something You Do, It Is Who You Are: Yogini Mansi Mahajan

Mansi Mahajan is a well-known yoga instructor and wellness advocate. She also runs House of Kapaali, an experiential wellness space and leading yoga retreats around the world.

Mansi's daily regime starts with meditation practises, as she believes fitness is an inside out process.

Breaking it down for BW Wellbeingworld she says, "Tuning the mind, prepares the body. I am a movement junkie, so I try to inculcate different forms of it during the week, ranging from Vinyasa, Kundalini yoga, variations of sun salutations, animal flows and acro yoga. I also practise Kalari Payattu; an ancient martial arts form from Kerala, which creates great mobility and strength in the body. I dedicate an hour to the mind to nourish and an hour to the body to flourish!"

Her advice to our readers on International Yoga Day is...

I would like to wish everyone a very Happy International Day of yoga. Yoga is not something you do, it is who you are, your natural state. So go ahead, this Yoga Day open up your body, body and soul to the magic, the divinity and joyfulness that is within you.

Yoga as the best form of exercise and her personal experience

Yoga has been an integral part of my life since I was a young teen. I continued the practise as I was growing up and in recent years took to teaching Yoga, so I could share the joy it brings to as many people as possible. The physical practice of yoga syncs movement with breath, so we become more aware and mindful, which is a deeply transformative experience in itself since it is our breath holds the key to our being. If we practise this state of being every day, even if only for a few moments it is bound to become a part of us; adding more exuberance to our mundane existence and elevating our state of being.

How important it is to live a healthy and fit lifestyle in today’s world

There isn't greater wealth out there than your health! In the era of mindless consumption, and stimulation overload, it is more necessary than ever to go that extra mile to make healthy choices. As much as it is important to eat clean, hydrate lots and get exercise; it is as pertinent that we pay attention to our mental hygiene, for we are the gatekeepers of our own energetic space. It is important to surround yourself with people and choices that resonate high vibrational living.
